What does David Goggins, Tim Ferris, Oprah Winfrey and Warren Buffett has in common?
They journal.
Taylor Swift captures her inspiration extensively into an external system.
Writing is a common practice among many successful individuals. When we write, it brings clarity to the mind, encourages self-reflection and generates new ideas.
Recently I read about building a second brain and bullet journal. I’ve been implementing the techniques mention in the book with the note taking app: Notion.
In the book about building a second brain, the PARA framework is introduced. It stands for
- Project
- Areas
- Resources
- Archives
The book on bullet journal is another proponent of writing down our thoughts and experiences.
I’ve been trying to write on and off through various channels. I write mainly about things that is of interest to me at that point in time. Here are some of the digital trails that I have left:
- https://wingfootprint.wordpress.com/who-is-wing/ (now defunct)
- https://medium.com/@wingpuah (some journalling, some unconventional thoughts on life)
I even submitted some articles to helium in my younger days till it sinks into non-existent.
I want to share what I learn online, even if the reach is perhaps just one person, or none at all.
I want to go back to writing in prose, and long form instead of writing in blog friendly manner.
The objectives of having this blog is to explore ideas and news on the following topics that is of interest to me:
- Trading
- Personal Knowledge Management
- Peak performance
- Technology
- Career
- Sustainability
This time round, I’m running my blog for the sake of writing, to explore how I can become the best version of myself instead of chasing leads and a business plan. May this blog be the last revamp and that I can keep up the habit of writing.
